The Puerperal Gymnastics Movement for the Normal Childbirth and Caesarean

The puerperal gymnastics is a simple movement which is done after the Childbirth in order to the mothers are more comfortable and can limbers up of the body after the childbirth. This gymnastics can be started six hours after the Childbirth which is done gradually and sustained. It can smooth the blood circulation and cleans the blood of puerperal quickly.

The same as doing the pregnant gymnastics which many benefits, the puerperal gymnastics also give many benefits after the childbirth. However, the methods must be appropriate in order to obtain the benefits maximally, and you can perform the puerperal gymnastics movements below:

1. The puerperal gymnastics for a normal Childbirth can be done from the first day even since you feel strong to do it. There are some things that you need to give attention when doing this gymnastics after the normal Childbirth process are:
  • Coached the respiration with the supine lying position. 
  • Contracting the buttock muscles before sitting down. 
  • When will sit, choose a chair that is a strong base and is not too soft (in order to restrain the pelvic muscles). 
  • After the childbirth the mother should not sitting or standing too long. 
  • For the next, you can start by doing Kegel gymnastics. You do not need to worry about the stitches in the vagina, because the puerperal gymnastics instead reinforces the muscles around the vagina and accelerates the healing of wound or tension during the childbirth
2. The puerperal gymnastics after caesarean can be done with a light activity that aims to increase the lungs  function, increase the bladder muscles, and the large intestine post-anesthesia when a cesarean. There are some of things that need to give attention when practice the puerperal gymnastics after the cesarean birth are:
  • Do not doing the physical exercise even just trying to lift the head when the supine lying, so be worried can pull the abdominal muscles. 
  • The next, you can actuating the point of toe and heel little by little. This puerperal gymnastics exercise is already enough in the first week after cesarean birth. 
  • When will wake up from sleeping position, tilt the body to the right first, then bend the left leg and put down the left hand on the bed and wake up with the both of hands supporting slowly. After that,
