Proper positions for conducting the breastfeeding process

Breastfeeding position will have a great influence for the baby`s health because if the woman have improper position in conducting the breastfeeding process, it will encourage the baby to inhale a lot of air and it can encourage the children to have some cold. The cold disease will frequently happens to the baby who still consume the breast milk or milk formula product through the bottle.

There are some steps for conducting a breastfeeding process:
  1. Wash your hands before conducting the breastfeeding.
  2. Squeeze a little breast milk then apply to your nipples and your areola.
  3. You can try to have a comfortable position such as a lay down position.
  4. Make sure the position of the baby is facing the woman with his stomach adheres on the woman`s stomach, the baby`s chin adheres to the woman`s breast. The baby`s ears and arms baby is in a straight line and make sure the baby's mouth is wide open cover the areola around the nipples.
  5. To open the baby`s mouth, you can precede the breastfeeding process by touching the nipples on the baby`s lips and cheek and after the baby`s mouth is opened you can give your nipples to your baby to be sucked. It can be used to prevent your baby to inhale a lot of air.
  6. Give your breast milk to your children in turn.

After conducting the breastfeeding, you can encourage your baby to have some belches to prevent some puffy and queasy. To make the baby having some belches you can practice these following technique:

Hugging the baby on your shoulder


Hold your baby on the rear-facing. Make sure the baby's chest and attached to the upright position with the Chin rests on the shoulders of the woman. Use one of your hands to support the body of your baby and the other hand is used to pat the baby's back.

The baby having a prone position in lap


You should take your baby in a prone position in your lap. Use one of your hands to hold the baby`s body with the position of his head is higher than his body. Doing a smooth clap to make your children to have some belches.

Holding in front position

You can do it to make your baby having some belches. It can be done by holding facing forward. Make sure that the position of the baby`s health is higher than his body. Doing a smooth clap on his back to encourage him to have some belches.
