There are different opinion of the scientists about the age of babies begin to be permitted learning to swim, but many have agreed on the minimum age of 3 months. This is because when the baby’s age is under 3 months, the immune system of the baby's body has not been able to survive in the water more than 10 minutes. Swimming for the baby aged 3 months is certainly in the tub or a special pool which used only once. This is to keep the purity of the water, and avoiding the baby from transmission the disease. The researchers did the IQ test when the child aged 10 years. It was done toward the children are taught to swim from the age of three months and from the age of five years. From these tests got the result that babies who learn to swim since the age of three months have a higher IQ, and useful toward the emotional level and the better physical than the other children.

Swimming for The Babies Stimulate The Motoric Response


When swimming, the baby will move their whole body, laughing happily, freely and without load. This will activates the motoric and sensory baby, because the muscles moving and the brain will think to balance the body while swimming. Swimming in the baby also help more easily receive the response from the surrounding around, learning to crawl and walking faster because familiar with moving arms and legs as when swimming.

At three months of age, actually the baby already have the reflex to move, moro reflex or gripping reflex. It is signed by when the baby is dipped into a tub or swimmingpool, then he will swing the legs like he was stepping. Perhaps at first the baby will be surprised, but usually will be happy after some time. By swimming will also increase the interaction and baby’s psychology toward the parents, like communication while swimming.
