11 Causes of Women Difficult to get Pregnant for Ovulation Problems

The causes of women difficult to get pregnant are diverse, and this often prevents a great desire to have a child for a couple. Even because permanent infertility, a mission to get pregnant with the pregnancy program is impossible. In developed countries like the United States too, 10-15 percent of couples are infertile couple, both infertility in women or men.

The common causes of women difficult to get pregnant is a problem with ovulation. Ovulation is the release of the mature egg cells from the uterus to the fallopian tubes to be fertilized by sperm. The signs of women difficult to get pregnant due to ovulation problems are abnormal menstrual periods, less complete menstrual periods, or even women not having menstrual periods at all.

There are some of the common causes of fertility disturbance in women which related to the problem of ovulation are:

1. Polycystic Ovary Syndrome (PCOS) 

PCOS is a condition that causes a woman is excess production of androgen hormones which causes a woman difficult to get pregnant with mark the disturbance of the menstrual cycle. PCOS is often related to obesity and insulin resistance in women.

2. Early Menopause 

Early menopause was defined as a reduction or even loss of women menstruation before age 40 years. This is caused by certain immune diseases or radiation therapy.

3. Damage At Fallopian Tubes

Damage of the fallopian tubes can be caused by sexually contagion infections, especially chlamydia. This disorder causes a blockage in the fallopian tubes including the pelvic inflammatory disease and disturbing the fertility in women.

4. Endometriosis 

Endometriosis is a condition in which uterine tissue grows outside the uterus, which will influences the ovaries, eggs, fallopian tubes, uterus, and even sperm function. Perhaps Indometriosis mild cases will not cause infertility. And it needs to be done laparoscopy which is used to remove the scar tissue to help the conception.

5. Ovary Scar Tissue 

Another factor of the cause of women difficult to get pregnant is physical damage on the ovaries which are caused by the surgery effect of ovary cysts.

6. Pelvic Adhesion

Pelvic adhesion is a condition of scar tissue that formed after pelvic surgery, intestine. It can change the structure of fallopian tubes, so causing the woman's egg cells are difficult to reach the uterus.


7. Thyroid Problems 

Thyroid problems are divided into two, namely Hyperthyroidism (overactive thyroid gland condition) and Hypothyroidism (a condition caused by an underactive thyroid). Both of those thyroid problems can be the cause of women difficult to get pregnant.

8. Radiotherapy 

The cancer treatment using radiotherapy is known can disturb the male or female’s fertility. But indeed it depends on where body part which getting therapy. To prevent that, you should consult to your physician first about the side effects of that cancer treatment.

9. Certain Medicines 

Certain drugs are known can interfere the female’s fertility, but after stopping the consumption of drugs utterly, fertility will usually return to normal.

10. Lifestyle 

The using of illegal drugs, alcohol, smoking, unhealthy diet, overweight / underweight, and excessive athletics are also known can decrease the female’s fertility.

11. Age 

In addition to the ten of interferences which decrease the woman’s fertility mentioned above, the factor of age (women aged over 40 years are also known have a lower number of egg cells and tend to be less healthy. It will certainly be one cause of women difficult to get pregnant, and if successful pregnant, the risk of miscarriage will also increase.
