The 4D Ultrasonography technology is a technology that lets you see the baby's face and other parts of the body more clearly. So if there are abnormalities in the fetus, it is easy and it is known so the further action for treatment can be done immediately. The pictures produced by 3D/4D is more easily understood by the layman, if compared to the pictures from 2D Ultrasonography technology like an abstract painting.

The 4D technology is not dangerous because it uses a technique the Ultrasound waves not using X-rays or other radiation mechanism which is dangerous for both mother and fetus in the womb. 4D Ultrasonography is a collection of 2D Ultrasonography images, whereas the 2D Ultrasonography technology is only taking pictures on one particular side. So the 4D Ultrasonography takes one volume which is a collection of some of the slices or the side of 2D Ultrasonography from three corners.
